In the past 7 days No.1 Heavy Melt Steel Scrap fell $0.44 CDN/TON, #2 copper was down $0.01 USD/LBS, Aluminum Extrusion Scrap decreased $0.01 USD/LBS and Zinc Die Cast scrap was unchanged.
The Canadian Scrap Metals Index which includes scrap steel as well as 5 other benchmark grades of scrap metals including non-ferrous,
has declined 10.89% in the past year and over the past 24 months the index has declined 24.91%.
